The Association for the Welfare of Albinos (AWA) is a nonprofit organization founded and legally established in the Republic of Cameroon to provide advocacy, education, support, and opportunities for Persons With Albinism (PWA).
AWA aspires to share its informative and compassionate programming platform to create a global community of concern where PWAs can be treated with fairness, and understanding and have the prospect of living full lives of their choice. The AWA mission is built upon

In 2023, the AWAs program commemorates the United Nations' International Albinism Awareness Day with the theme "Inclusion is Strength," emphasizing that no one should be left behind. In certain countries, individuals with albinism face segregation from education, social activities, cultural resources, and decision-making processes, often being abandoned by family and friends. Some endure skin cancer and pass away unnoticed. Persons with Albinism are human beings who deserve to be treated with dignity and respect, and to be included equally in all aspects of life.
